Donna Spivey plays guitar and sings lead vocals and harmony. Her favorite bluegrass artist is Lester Flatt.

I grew up in gospel and bluegrass music. Being raised up in church and singing in the choir my mom and dad both really loved music. My great grandfather played the banjo, his name was Devon Ludlum. My dad played the mandolin and taught me to play rhythm on the guitar. I have a 1964 D-18 martin that my dad taught me to play. I also have a D-28 martin that my husband purchased for me in 1990.

I would like to thank my mom and dad for bringing me up in a home where God was first and families ties were strong. And the love for others in music and fellowship were a part of our family.

I hope you will enjoy the music I represent today and it will be a bond to bring us together as a big family of gospel and bluegrass music.

In 2006 I celebrated my 50th birthday and my daughter Wendy surprised me with a D-40 martin guitar. I was so excited words cannot explain how happy I was. Hope to see you at my shows and let you get a look at this D-40 martin.

I AM GLAD TO BE PERFORMING WITH CAROLINA ROSE. SHE IS A BIG PART OF THE BILL MONROE FOUNDATION IN ROSINE, KENTUCKY. SHE IS A GREAT SONG WRITER AND SINGER. I WOULD LIKE TO LET HER KNOW HOW MUCH SHE MEANS TO ME.

TUESDAY NIGHTS MR LADDY CANNON AND I PERFORM AT "CANNON'S AUCTION HOUSE" IN CLARKTON, NC. I HAVE BEEN KNOWING LADDY FOR YEARS AND HE IS A GREAT SINGER AND MUSICIAN. HE PLAYS KEYBOARD AND SINGS A VARIETY OF MUSIC. I LIKE FOR HIM TO DO SOME "HANK WILLIAMS", COME BY AND SEE HIS WOODEN INDIAN.
